Last night, the Bloom planning committee got together to introduce new friends and community members to the Kansas City Free Health Clinic and to the fabulous fundraising party known as Bloom!
Co-chairs Kelly Cole and Charles Shrout graciously opened their home for the event. A big thanks also goes to SPACES magazine. Attendees were treated to wonderful food and fantastic company…but the highlight by far was listening to Suzette.
Suzette is a Kansas Citian — she could be your neighbor — and she told us how the Clinic literally saved her life. She gave a moving, firsthand account of how she suddenly found herself unable to afford medical insurance. Enter Kansas City Free Health Clinic. Suzette spoke of the care and compassion she received, on numerous occasions, and how she got needed referrals to specialists.
Clinic Executive Director Sheri Wood (shown left) was on hand to answer questions about the clinic and to further explain its mission and accomplishments.
Bloom is Studio 54 will undoubtedly be an outrageous, over-the-top evening…and the reason for the party was crystal clear last night. Hats off to Sheri, her dedicated staff and the many volunteers who work to make the Clinic one of the nation’s best! We are fortunate to have this available to fellow Kansas Citians. And you never know…one day you or someone you love might become another grateful patient.
